This was a character design inspired by the lyrics to "Sweat" by Tool. I had a WIP posted that I had to delete. For some reason Deviant Art was acting screwy when I tried to update the image.
Done in tonal pencils, with a bit of ink wash over them. Added some pro white for the water effects.
Im sweating, And breathing And staring and thinking And sinking Deeper. Its almost like Im swimming.
The sun is burning hot again On the hunter And the fisherman, And hes trying to remember when, But it makes him dizzy.
Seems like Ive been here before. Seems so familiar. Seems like Im slipping Into a dream within a dream.
Must be the way you whisper.
The sun is setting cool again. Im the thinker And the fisherman And Im trying to remember when But it makes me dizzy. And Im sweating, And breathing, And staring and thinking And sinking Deeper And its almost like Im swimming.
Seems like Ive been here before. Seems so familiar. Seems like Im slipping Into a dream within a dream. Its the way you whisper. It drags me under And takes me home.
Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
